Fusion RemixNeville Ewars aka Spectro Date -
December 2, 2005
The program started as advertised, me being the only idler aside from Narity & Kappa, who were both working at the event. The fashion show was wicked! The models were hot, the lighting was good, and the music was great, nothing to complain about at all. I was really surprised by how good the show was, well put together and very well executed. Kappachino was very much a favorite among the crowd, especially in the swimsuits: "My word!" As she did her strut, all I could hear were shouts of: "Mushrooooooooom" & "Damn... what a mudfish", which assured me that the idlerz had very much made their entrance. I turned around in the middle of the very dark auditorium only see shades of what looked like Computer Geek and Bertitude . It was a good thing Mystic hadn't arrived as yet, because I would have never seen him in there at all. As Kappa made her second appearance in swimsuit, I could see the big smiles on their faces..... like finding a red corvette under the Christmas tree. The fashion show ended in style with all the models taking their final walk, it was high on the radar for a majority of the time. The only low moment came when a young man arrived; strutting in a purple swim trunk, now, due to nightmares that may arise, neither I nor any of the male Idlerz will discuss this. The moment was immediately heckled by screams behind me of: "A wha dis spectro come have mi a watch rasta??". It was not until after the show that I realized just how many people made the trip to the Edna Manley Auditorium. Along with CG and Bert, there was RoninSwordsmith, Ashton and thelokat . There were also a number of non-idlers with them, a well appreciated mixture. Later in the night we were joined by IllWill & the_mystic_one. A majority of the time, while the concert was in full swing, we held our own little affair outside the venue, talking about any form of f*#kery we could think of. Being the idlerz we are, it's quite evident that nothing said out there was really of any relevance. Eventually we got bored of that and made our way back into the show, entering like the stars we were. It was good timing as the main performances had only just begun. The lineup was fairly good, with performances from Aidonia, Leftside & Esco and Wayne Marshall. It was way too short though. The after party kicked off kind of late, and felt fairly lame. Chromatic did very well spinning, but I was pretty vibe less after they did their 10 minutes on the turntables. By this point, Kappa, Ronin and Lokat had departed, leaving the resident party animals behind, not wanting to go home until the usual 4am. Computer Geek left shortly after, I think he said it was time for his moms' sponge bath or something like that. Quad was next to feel our wrath. Mystic, Bert, Ashton, IllWill, myself and a non-idler named Mono, made the trip to the New Kingston hotspot. As soon as the door flied, the bar was touched. Now this was vibes! Quad was jammin' like a Tuff Gong record, as usual. It just had the perfect environment, and the song selection was crass up until the DJ went all techno on us. Couple Long Island Iced Teas and Strawberry Daiquiris amongst the attendees didn't hurt to build a vibe either. With my help, 1 idler got "the 2 nd best massage ever" in the middle of the club. What can I say; Mono is a very kind girl. We kept doing our thing at the club until about 3:45a.m, at which point everyone decided it was time to go. I don't know if the fact that I fell asleep in the back of the club had anything to do with this decision. What can I say, I forgot I was supposed to sleep the night before and was surprised I had even lasted till 4:00. All in all it was a good night; I met some cool people and had just enough fun to keep me sitting home for the rest of the weekend. It's all about the people you roll with. One Up! |

I couldn't help but to look at my ticket for Fusion in disgust at 7:15p.m as I was yet to get any form of verbal confirmation from any idler where attendance was concerned, especially since the event started at 7:00. Eventually with the arrival of a few personal friends, I made my way to the auditorium. At this point I was totally vibe-less, but went in anyway as Kappachino would soon be making her way down the catwalk. The venue was fairly well put together; especially the lighting which I later found out was being run by Narity Realvibes .
